Delete your account
Applies to the reeldot app and reeldot.app
You can delete your reeldot account and everything in it at any time, without asking us.
It takes about ten seconds and does not require contacting support.
In the app
- Open reeldot and make sure you are signed in.
- Tap the settings button — the gear, top left of the map.
- Choose Settings, then the Account section.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm. You will be asked twice.
You have 30 days to change your mind. Your account is hidden the moment
you delete it — your profile, published lists and search entry disappear for everyone
else, you are signed out everywhere, and any paid plan is cancelled so you are not
charged again. Nothing is actually erased until 30 days have passed.
To bring it back, sign in again within those 30 days and choose
Restore account. Everything returns as it was. A cancelled paid plan
does not — you would need to subscribe again.
After 30 days everything below is permanently deleted, and your username becomes
available for someone else to claim. At that point nothing can be recovered.
If you only want to clear some trips or pin lists, delete those instead — they sit in
"Recently deleted" for 30 days and can be restored. Reel folders are the exception:
those go straight away, with no bin.
What gets deleted
- Your account and profile — email, name, username, nickname, bio, avatar, cover and
the social handles you added
- Every pin you have saved, including the photos attached to them
- Your trips, itineraries, flight and hotel details, and pin lists
- Your saved reels and their cached previews
- Your follows and followers, and any pending shared pins
- Your collaborator membership on other people's trips
- Your uploaded images, removed from our storage bucket
What stays, and why
- Trips owned by someone else. If you added a place to a friend's
shared trip, that place is part of their itinerary and stays with it — as do the
board messages and activity entries you left on it. Ask the trip's owner to remove
them if you would rather they went.
- Support conversations. Tickets you opened and the replies on them
are kept as a record. Email us if you want yours deleted too.
- Cached media shared with other users. A reel preview is stored
once and reused by everyone who saved the same reel, so it is only removed when the
last person referencing it is gone.
- Server logs. Routine operational logs are kept for a short period
and expire on their own. They are not used to reconstruct an account.
If you cannot sign in
If you have lost access to the Google account you signed up with, email
support.reeldot@gmail.com
from any address, with the subject Account deletion request, and include the
email address the reeldot account uses. We will verify ownership and delete it for you within
30 days.
You do not need to install anything to make this request.
